Result: Blazers win by 44 runs
Match Summary:
Sunnyvale Blazers won the toss and elected to bat.
Blazers: 145/ all out in 40 overs wkts (Tejas 27 [57], Jag 26 [56], Arun A 25 [30]; Karthik 7-0-23-3; Sandeep 9-0-37-3)
Bay Area: 101 all out ( Pradeep 26, Sathy 6-27-3; Ajay 9 overs, 13 runs, Arun, Chetan, Parth 2 wickets each)
MOM: Sathy for 3 quick top order wickets and 13 runs including a massive six
MVP: Arun A for 25 runs and 2 wickets
1st Session: Low scoring game with barely any partnership led to a total of 145 all out. Jag and Raj started the innings with caution but soon Raj got run out to a minor confusion. Nandan went in next and was also run out without facing a ball. That made the entire Blazers team get on their back foot and spend time finding the steadiness from there. 16 for 2 in 5 overs. Tejas and Nachi as always, stabilized the innings and brought the total to 87 in 26 overs. Nachi made 21 and Tejas 27. Arun A made 25 runs after that and they bowled 26 extras to get the score to 145 in 40 overs, all out.
2nd Session: Chasing 140 plus is a challenge on Ortega. Sathy started spitting fire from the get go and got 2 (almost 3) wickets in the very first over! Before they knew it, they were 2 for 2. Some small partnerships here and there allowed Bay area to hang around a bit, but they never looked in control and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Chetan, Jwal, Sathy, all continued getting wickets. Ajay bowled pretty much a magical spell and was rather unfortunate to not pick a wicket. Also, Parth was busy picking wickets (2) on full tosses from the other end. With 15 extras, blazers still manage to get them all out for 101 in 33 overs. Another team effort and team win for Blazers this season!
Positives: Great team work, intense bowling and way to keep the pressure on, focus
Areas of improvement: Giving chances in batting, loss of concentration and losing wickets after making starts, not building partnerships, a bit sloppy on the field
Thanks!
