Details:
Tracy started their game with the talented Jodha in the middle. Team Sunnyvale started the attack with Kiran and Sathy. Both of them bowled in good areas and did not allow any free runs to the openers. Jodha survived a good spell and was forced in to many wrong shots with sitters falling in no man’s land. By the 4th over of the Innings Kiran got one of the opener (Niazi) edging to the keeper. Narsi in the 11th over bowled a brilliant ball to get rid of Jodha with Venky doing the stumping. Then came the golden period in Sunnyvale bowling with the new joinee (Nitin) taking three quick wickets. The first was a brilliant reflex catch from Raj S, the second was a clean bowled and the third was a caught behind. Nitin bowled with very good control and never let the batsman settle. Tracy were forced to 68/5 by the end of the 17th over. The idea was to wrap the opponents within 150, but Raman played very well in the second half with the tail and pulled Tracy back into the game. Asteroids bowled good, but were not getting the best support from the fielders during this period. By the second break, Tracy lost 2 wickets and were 150/7. Sridharan and Narsi started after the break and bowled good in tandem. Sridharan especially bowled a good spell at the end, but Tracy crossed the 200 mark with the help of some dropped catches. They were all out by the 44th over and set Sunnyvale a target of 216.
Sunnyvale Innings
Venky and Raj started the batting for Sunnyvale. Venky did not survive long after guiding the ball to gully which was brilliantly taken by Sahij. After the first wicket Raj S and Srikanth batted freely and with some Thaliva style. The bulk scoring was done by Raj with good support from Srikanth. Both the batsman made bowling look very ordinary and all signs showed a comfortable Asteroids Victory. Just before the end of the first session (two balls to go), Sri was out for a pretty ordinary ball after making 28, and the score read 87/2. Sridharan joined Raj and got out quickly after the second break. Ankur the new joinee along with Raj S played steadily and had a partnership going before Ankur and Vijay S were out in quick succession. Raj S was batting brilliantly all this time even while he was suffering with cramps, but did not get support from the other end. Sridharan, Ankur and Vijay S all falling after getting decent starts. Sunnyvale were 141/5 by the second break. Raj S got out in the power play after making a brilliant 64. This started the collapse aided by some bad Umpiring. Sathy and Nitin at the later stage tried their best to get home the victory, but could not make it. They had a partnership of 30 runs for the 9th wicket. Sathy ended as the not out batsman making 30 valuable runs with Sunnyvale needing 28 out of 30 balls.
